Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 sticks unsalted butter at room temperature
½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt. Whisk to combine. 3. In another bowl cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar with a mixer until very creamy. This usually takes about 2 minutes.
- Beat the eggs in a separate bowl along with the vanilla, then add to the butter sugar mixture and mix just until combined.
- Add the dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and mix until combined.
- Use a 2 teaspoon cookie scoop and scoop the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10-12 minutes until the cookies are golden brown and set.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes on the pan, then transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
- Store in an airtight container on the countertop.
**You can also use the cookie scoop to form the cookies, then drop the formed dough into a resealable plastic bag and freeze them. That way you can bake just a few at a time. I always write the oven temperature and baking time on the outside of the bag. It will keep in the freezer for approximately 2 months.
