Many of you have already heard the story of how my book Cooking Pure and Simple came to be, but we’ve had a number of new people join our group lately, so I’d like to tell it again. The book was originally planned to just be a collection of recipes to pass down to our children and grandchildren, but as our daughters went off to college and out on their own they all met that person who literally “could not boil water”, you know what I mean, so I thought maybe these recipes would be a help to someone and decided to publish the book. Well, when I was gathering the recipes, a process that actually took several years, I put a Bible verse at the bottom of each page to remind us of all the verses that we taught the kids as they were growing up. So, the book also became a miniature Bible survey as well as a recipe collection.. So, I decided to start over with the Bible verses, so to speak and just go through them in the order that they appear in the Bible
