This week’s recipe is easy to make and it’s both lighter and cheaper than beef! Give it a try! Oh, and the leftovers make great sandwiches for lunch the next day and it freezes fabulously!

 (makes 4 servings)

1 tablespoon butter
1 small onion
1 clove garlic

1 egg
1⁄2 cup oatmeal
1⁄4 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 pound ground turkey

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Chop onion and garlic very finely.
3. Put onion and butter into small skillet over medium heat and cook 2-3 minutes until onion begins to soften, then add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.(don’t skip this step. It makes a great difference in the flavor)
4. Transfer to a large bowl and let cool.
5. Pour oatmeal into blender and blend until it’s ground into a fine powder.

6. Add all other ingredients to the bowl and mix until thoroughly blended and put into loaf pan.
7. Bake for 60 minutes or until meat thermometer reads 165°F.
