Most of the country is under a GIANT heatwave right now, so I’m thinking that our Fourth of July celebration may include a cook-in instead of a cookout because it’s so HOT! Here’s a recipe that is quick and easy to make, will hold up well for your party if you transfer it to the slow cooker after it’s done…and still has all of the great summer time burger vibes
(makes 8 sandwiches)
2 pounds ground beef or your favorite ground meat
(ground beef is the standard, but ground turkey works great too.)
1⁄2 cup ketchup
1⁄4 cup mustard
1⁄2 cup brown sugar
1. Brown the meat in a skillet.
2. Drain the fat.
3. Add the ketchup and mustard. Stir until well combined.
4. Add the brown sugar and stir again until well combined.
5. Serve on hamburger buns.
