A restaurant quality side dish that you can make at home in under 30 minutes. We love it with any kind of pork.
(makes 4 servings)
4 large apples
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon coconut oil
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 tablespoon nutmeg
3 tablespoons sugar
1⁄2 cup water
1. Wash, core and slice apples. Do not peel.
2. Put butter, coconut oil and apples in large skillet over medium heat.
3. Sprinkle cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar on top.
4. Stir until apples are thoroughly coated with spice/sugar mixture and are just beginning to soften.
5. Add water to skillet, cover and cook over medium heat for approximately 15 minutes or until most of the liquid is evaporated and apples are fork- tender.
6. Serve immediately.
